Monday Musings

There is no better way to start the week than to share in the blessings of a Sunday in a local church.  The joys from yesterday at BCBC are numerous! Here are a few for God’s glory! He is so very good.

The ministry of Dr. Jack & Jennifer Mitchell, Grace Dental Medical Missions

  • Jack & Jennifer’s salvation testimonies were a display of God’s grace and abundant provision.  Jennifer was confronted by her sister with the Gospel, and then eleven years later, she was able to lead her husband to Christ.
  • To see the pictures of hundreds receiving medical attention, but better than that, hearing the gospel and receiving Christ as Savior, was thrilling!
  • The joy of spending the day with two genuinely grace-filled, humble servants was enriching to our souls.  We had a grand time recounting our  trip to Israel two years ago.
  • The medical personnel who attend BCBC gathered for lunch to hear from Jack & Jennifer in a more intimate setting.  Perhaps the Lord will lead some of them to help GDMM on one of their trips!
  • As the day ended, to be able to look back and say, “Thank You, Lord, for using this couple to bless, encourage, challenge, and serve the folks of BCBC!”

The music ministry at BCBC

  • Phil & Beckie, brother and sister, singing “Blessed Assurance” in the morning service.
  • Leah & Laura, two long-time friends, singing “There Is a Happy Land” with Laura playing the penny whistle.
  • The trumpet trio and Weston’s piano piece for offertories.

A provoking statement that has been in the forefront of my thoughts this weekend

  • When the preferences of the church members are greater than their passion for the gospel, the church is dying. (Thom Rainer)

  • Praise the Lord for a new family to join our church family!
  • The power of God’s Word!
  • The response of God’s people!
  • All the little things that God does throughout a Sunday as well as the big things!

Matthew 28:18-20  And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
